Pat and Mary Margaret loved the glass. With that very little encouragement I give you more glass. This glass is from the shops on the island of Murano where the Venetian glass is made. You've got to work at it to get to the island. A long walk from the dock of San Marco on the south side of the main island to a boat launch on the north side and then a boat ride ...

Drunk lots of wine, then walked back ...

Back on the shuttle again... We were given two choices, to go straight back to the ship or get dropped off near St Marks Square to explore on our own. We were wanting to see St Marks Square, The Doges Palace, the Basilica and so on, so off we got. Now, one anecdote I have ...

... Again the people here are very friendly, in the main, and quite helpful. There are people everywhere looking at maps trying to discern the next bridge to cross, the next path to follow, and many seem happy to share suggestions on how to get, in our case, home – the Hotel Scandinavian.

We did get home and are quite tired after quite a long day, travelling from the west side of Italy to the east. Looking forward now to a good night’s sleep.
