... space which was reached through a big open area containing arms displays. We were able to go above the main council chamber, the timbers were enormous and were actually holding the chamber’s suspended ceiling, it’s a huge room with no support pillars so making it would have been quite an engineering feat. There were an awful lot of big old trees cut down just for the roof trusses in the whole building, amazing to see.

... A great cruise so many funny enjoyable days and wonderful sights. ... ride to Howth. Howth was a cute coastal town famous for having a beautiful view of Ireland's eye. In Celtic times it was called Eria's Island, a woman's name that became confused with Erin (from Eireann the Irish name for Ireland). The Vikings changed Island for Ey, the Norse equivalent, so it became known as Erin's Ey, and ultimately Ireland's Eye. It has the ruins of a Martello tower and 8th century church!
