... space which was reached through a big open area containing arms displays. We were able to go above the main council chamber, the timbers were enormous and were actually holding the chamber’s suspended ceiling, it’s a huge room with no support pillars so making it would have been quite an engineering feat. There were an awful lot of big old trees cut down just for the roof trusses in the whole building, amazing to see.
