1523 Old Brodhead Rd Monaca, Pennsylvania, United States, 15061
This evening, on our way our of Steel City (Pittsburgh), we made a spontaneous decision to stop at Max & Erma's for dinner. The city was beautiful at night--lights from the skyscrapers reflecting off the river which in turn flowed beneath some picturesque bridges. These ...
Pittsburgh, PA, Pennsylvania, United States mikeandkelseyWe are having a wonderful stay here in Western Pennsylvania! We decided to make the long 6-hr drive across the state all in one sitting on Friday night. We've booked three nights here at Candlewood Suites. And, in fact, due to a changed schedule, it's both possible and advantageous for us to stay here an additional two nights, so that gives us five nights here in this suite.
We stayed at a Candlewood the weekend ...
... be a mountain goat to enter the park
but the view is very nice – we're sandwiched between three mountains so there
is hillside fall-foliage all around us – but its falling quick.

... Comments:
I’m sure that Pittsburgh holds the record for having the highest, biggest skyscrapers in the smallest area. The buildings are a real mix of modern, eclectic and old 18th century architecture. I personally was not impressed with the city itself. Maybe the lack of fall colors, smell of damp, moldy leaves, detours and construction projects influenced my impressions ...
... It was like heaven on earth. My favourite art, all in one place. All from Mr. Warhol, but to top it off, the temporary exhibit was Shepard Fairey, the guy who made that famous Obama stencil, and also the guy who did the Obey Andre the Giant stencil and designed some White Stripes album covers and Smashing Pumpkin's Zeitgeist. Awwwwesome. I could've easily spent a few hours just there.
However, it was not to be.
Steph, Lee and I left the exhibit at exactly at the time we were ...
... However raw eggs can't be sold in American restaurants like that.
Phew... so we all just rolled ourselves back onto the bus. Sadly, there was no time for me to purchase a Steelers touque. It had already started getting cold and I only brought a spring jacket, because someone advised me that it was sooooo warm south of the 49th parallel. (Mom!)
I probably would have regretted that touque later on anyway...
We had a couple of hours to go through the Carnegie ...
... so I was happy to go there. It's decorated all in red and vinyl and there is a Hammerhead shark on the wall!
The highlight of the day however, was the sushi at Tamari.
It was soooooooo incredible. I ordered a "Sexy Dragon" but also some quails eggs wrapped in bacon and got to taste the various hors d'ouvres that everyone ordered... including some lobster and a special tuna piece that the chef made just for us. It ...
Arunan went to work today really early and then I slept in.
I worked all day and Justin from the Halloween party on Saturday dropped in unexpectedly. Well, it was kind of expected by Arunan told me he liked me when he met me. Frankly, I didn't remember him.
He invited me over to his place later on tonight before heading over to dinner. Justin has a jacuzzi... yeah don't eyeroll me... I ...
... week.
We threw around his foxtail. A weird tennis ball with a tail at the end of it that you can catch, and then we played circle soccer, a really ingenious way of playing soccer with only one goal, and a giant exercise ball and then another game that was just invented, called fricket. Kind of a mixture of cricket and baseball, played with the aforementioned foxtail.
