      ... and CC would be able to get in. The lady on the phone informed me they hadn't plowed because they didn't even get an inch of snow. I couldn't believe it. All day I had been hearing reports about how bad Northern Minnesota was from the Polar Vortex and they had only gotten a dusting at Lake Itasca.

      Anyway, I arrived at Lake Itasca and it is beautiful. My next post will be about tonight's adventures. They were a lot of fun.

      ... was soothing and comfortable. People enjoyed crossing the slippery rocks. We preferred to walk across just below the rocks. See the photos We pose for the "shot" at the headwaters of the Mississippi. A lot of interesting information on the headwaters and the whole Mississippi river system was at the visitor center.       ... campground and went into the town for a couple of pics before heading out on the road with Garmin guiding us to Minneapolis, the initial destination for the day.
