... The island was important for Great Britain due to its close proximity to Italy.

The weather in Malta was nice – maybe 65 and sunny. However it was absolutely freezing on the open-top bus. The weather on this set of ports has been colder than before, which is odd because we are further south.

... very green and lovely, with a different feel to other parts of the island. Manica showed me some moss growing on trees, indicating that the air here must be very clean.
