          Tim just walked in the door and is already passed out so I'm going to teach myself to play Call of Duty or Assassins Creed. I haven't played a video game since Nintendo's Yoshi, so well see how this goes...

          ... in this area following their first E-Prix the previous Saturday. This was evidently like a Grand Prix but with electric cars, and had attracted large crowds. We had a lovely lunch at the Yard House and a walk along the boardwalk but the Passport Bus was not on its normal route because of the work on the roads so we couldn't easily get to Queen Mary, and our plan for the aquarium lost it's appeal when we saw the crowds of children so after another ...

          We screwed up and took a shuttle to a Newport Beach hotel ( but was not close to beach) Ended up taking a taxi to Balboa Island ($17.00) walked to the ferry and went over to the island.           ... hwy 1 at Oxnard and further on at Point Magu saw the Naval Base where missile testing is carried out. Near Malibu we saw many fishing boats and houses on stilts at Malibu beach. Traffic got very busy by Santa Monica, next was Venice . By this time the traffic was horrendous so we missed the beach which 18 years ago was fog bound when we were there. Eventually we gave up on Hwy1 and took the Sat Nav advice and joined the Freeway which was wall to wall traffic- 5 lanes each ...
