          Day 1 - Phuket

A travel blog entry by mrado on Oct 28, 2014

... Around lunchtime, we headed off to Patong to check out Jungceylon and other bits and pieces. TBH Jungceylon was extremely disappointing. Not many good shops and Robinsons department store looks as tired as Tokyu in Bangkok. Probably the only highlight of Patong at all was a fresh food market called Banzaan, where we saw them selling live ...

A relaxing day today... Sort of, The most incredible thing happened. I got up before Vicki ! Unheard of. Shay stayed in bed while we headed to breakfast and out towards the beach. It's a hot one. The sun just almost tears into your skin sometimes. Cash converted so more money to spend. Hired a chair and umbrella on the beach. Vick chilled and I hopped in. Very warm but nice. Not many yet in the ...

... Thailand at 56kg. I may have 15kg on him but he was throwing me across the ring with no effort at all, the strongest guy I have ever met. Weighs 56kg must be 55kg of muscle. I took him out for breakfast twice in the last week just to say thanks as he was such a nice guy and always made the time for me. He was really pleased and so greatful, its mad 2 is nothing to me but meant so much to him he kept ...

          ... 2 nights.

Karon is okay, the majority of tourists are Russian, all of the menus and signs are in Russian, I suppose it's a sign of the times but the Thai people are not too happy, they say that the Russians don't spend money, we notice they often take their own drinks into the restaurants . When a waiter said ' thank you' to me in Russian we knew it was time to go!

There are some great hotels there, a nice beach and good nightlife but sadly not much there ...

... bottles of water knowing it was going to be a flipping hot day.

I'll do up a separate entry just on Soi Dog alone!!

After returning from Soi Dog a shower was in order. I was full of slobber, pee and poo. Hot water on demand and the showers here are not stand alone - they are part of the open washroom concept. The higher end places would be like what folks are accustomed to. Not these awesome lower end places!!

Was rough having dinner on ...
