Speyer Day 6 - Koln

This train to Koln is an ICE train - Inter City Express - it moves along like greased lightening. Screens on the train clock the speed. I know we hit 296km at one point. These trains are smooth, quiet, comfortable and, most of all, faassstttt.

Koln at 10:17am. Walk out of the hauptbahnhof in Koln and whammo!!!!! There is the huge gothic cathedral looming gigantic. Not much to say except there is one reference in the crypts in the basement ...

We took a quick look around the grading facility, all the potatoes are graded and delivered. They have a number of facilities around the area to handle the volume, have about 8000 ha x 50 = 400,000 MT of potatoes to deal with. We then went with Andre to lunch ...

... walking I decided to trial some of the parks and restaurant I’d previously raced past catching little information in relation to the matter. After a while of reflecting on my Segway tour I decided that I would go to Volksgarten as that Public Park was in the direction of Classic Car Remise and I could cover some of the ground now rather than retracing my steps and travel further later. After the course had ended we went into town for food, where I ate my first Bratwurst (traditional German sausage, eaten as a hot dog) and then we went up the Rheinturm, the television tower in Düsseldorf.
