This morning was a tad early even the sun had not come up when where waiting at the port for our ferry across if you can call it a ferry a lot larger than our perth ferry, eight floors to be exact and drive on drive of down the bottom for trucks not just cars .. We all found our little bit of couch our chair and proceeded to either sleep or read or both as the crossing takes about 3 hours. Talk about ...

Up waaaayy to early to catch the ferry to Rhodes. It's huge. Semi's driving in and pulling trailers off. About 8 of them and most of them went back 2 or 3 times. Sitting at the back of the ferry watching Kos and Turkey disappear. Very bumpy. It's almost like we can feel the engine vibrations.
Well as it was still dark decided to do like the locals and sleep on the free couches. Note to ...

I am in Dalyan, Turkey at this very moment surprising my beautiful mum to have a two week girly holiday with Mum and Ann before heading home :)! This way my mum CAN be part of my travels and it's all thanks to my lovely Dad for helping me concoct and fund a turkish diversion! I can't wait to see his smiley face at the airport :) and have 8 months worth of dad ...

... been a bust as far as tourism goes, but their disappointment was my bonus, as the place was mercifully absent of crowds of tourists, aside from day trippers to the harbour that could be easily avoided. Between the harbour and the old town, I had some fantastic meals and evenings looking out over the views. The most famous local dish is symi shrimp, a tiny, but fat shrimp that is simply fried in oil and garlic and eaten whole. They were delicious, so sweet and rich ...
