... Tower. The title of today's blog entry is a direct quote taken from the English language version of the Tokyo Tower Guide Book (see photo included with today's collection). The tower offers 360 degree views of the city: Is it possible that by "navel," the translators meant to convey "center"? We'll never know for sure. But I had some fun today looking at signs, and I've included photos of my favorites.

For dinner, we headed back to Shinjuku Station ...

... to leave Tokyo after only 10 days, Kaiya is confidently using her basic Japanese, Brad is exhausted but exhilarated, and I am very content with our wonderful start to family traveling, though yearning for some private travel writing time. :)

So it's only too perfect when our flight to Greece is cancelled and we are stranded at a plush hotel in the forested area near the airport for the night. Stranded waiting for a flight out, we happily gorge on the free buffet ...

... to kill some time. Browsing through a few shops, we came across an ABC Mart, which sells shoes for around 30% - 50% of the price of Australian stores (since Australian's get price gouged). ... we then stood in a different line to buy our tickets and then were sent to yet another line to wait for the elevator. When we did finally get into the elevator we were crammed in like sardines, but the neat thing about our trip to the viewing platform over 300 meters above us, is that it only took less than a minute to get there.
