... turn of events, and after our fish stopped moving, we started to cook our food and, well, let's just say the fish didn't die in vain. It was an excellent meal, we both really enjoyed it - particularly when we got stuck into the sake and plum wine!

That evening involved Cormac getting a shiatsu massage from a nimble, old Japanese lady, who jumped all over him like a cat, followed by cocktails and a soak in a hot-tub on the roof, overlooking Lake Kawaguchi, and ...

... express train into the centre quite easily despite a 1 hr train ride and a bit of a wait. I got completely lost when I arrived, for some daft reason I thought it would be simple and obvious when I got here, whoops, but luckily the people here are so nice that many of them help me along the way, two kind locals help me lift my suitcase up the underground stairs and when I looked completely lost and hopeless, the group of locals asked me where I was looking for and walked ...

... the Tokyo Tower, a mini Eiffel Tower, about a km away.

Around this area there is a real concrete jungle and nobody walks on the road. There are walkways above and below ground that make Bangkok's look basic. Walking around we are actually not sure which level is ground with open air restaurants in what is the second basement, train lines below them, roads above them and monorails above the roads - we feel like such country bumpkins. Everything is clean and ...

... though so we know what we have missed!

After a very nice Japanese sushi style lunch we go to Lake Ashi for a 15 minute lake cruise, still in the rain but it must be beautiful on a good day! We were due to go on a cable car up the mountain but that was closed too due to the weather so we visited a local art gallery where ...
