... the boat which took us for a 20min ride on the lake but unfortunately the weather was so cloudy with grey skies that we could not spot Mt Fuji. However, it was one of the most scenic places I had ever visited in my life. Surrounded by mountains on 3 sides, it was picturesque.

We woke up the next morning and there it was - the magnificent Mt. Fuji - right outside our bedroom window. In the morning I did the Kyoto Station Sywalk, which gives great views of the skyline. Then it was onto four different trains for the 5 hour trip to Kawaguchiko which is a town at the base of Mt Fuji.
