Luckily when I got to school my legend of a 3rd year teacher said one girl was ill so he gave me her tickets to use! Thursday night we went out to dinner with Atsuo, Akemi and a visiting post-doc from Hiroshima. Chris and I left a little early to get to the center of the city so we could stop and pick up his boots, which Atsuo got a call about. I would have loved to of ...

... mine and the lava fields.

The trip started Tuesday evening after work with a drive from the base down to the Ferry Port in Hachinohe just south of Misawa. Our guide, "AT", gave us a chance to buy some food for the trip by stopping by a Japanese style 7-11 (more so a grocery store). We got there at the perfect time......mark-down time! So we stocked up on bento boxes, ...
