Days 115-116 - Sake and an island of rabbits!

A travel blog entry by annadave on May 06, 2015

... flowers, great views and hidden paths and we barely saw anyone. We decided as it was getting later that we should head back and tear ourselves away from here. We used up our rabbit food and said goodbye to this beautiful place. Not many people, even Japanese, seem to know about this island but it was well worth the visit, not only for cute rabbit overload but for the beauty of the place. We got back to Onomichi in the early evening and tried to find ...

Helloooooo Today I went to this realllyyyyy cool town called Kurashiki. It was about 20 minutes by train from where I live. We went on a really nice day too so taking pictures and appreciating the scenery was made even better by the sunlight! When we arrived in Kurashiki we first went to an outlet mall. They had many name brand stores and because it's Golden Week they had many sales! I didn't shop as much as I have been ...

Day 13 - rest day and some blogging

A travel blog entry by globalshepherds on Apr 30, 2015

Oh yes, so back to the search for "Comfortable Shoes." As it turns out size 28 is the largest size most Japanese stores carrry. This roughly translates to 28cm or size 11. As I wear size 12 which would be 30.5cm here, we haven't yet found anything that will fit. They do have the equivalent to moleskin which I've been using on my two toes and today I soaked my feet in salt water. Hopefully tomorrow I will be in a much ...

A travel blog entry by globalshepherds on Apr 29, 2015

As we got to sleep pretty late the night before and we had to wake up sort of early to get our free breakfast - 9AM - it didn't surprise me that we were both feeling pretty tired after breakfast. On this day we would travel to the outskirts of Hiroshima and perhaps take a bike ride between some of the islands on the Japanese Inland Sea. Once again while there is plenty of water to surf on in this region the WindGuru ...

Day 21: 3 weeks in! Tomonoura, Sensui-jima

... said the bus to Tomonoura left from Platform 15... Looking around at the barren landscape we started to panic. Deciding to roll with it (and assuming we'd be paying double to go there (wherever there was!) and back before we'd even got to our destination), we committed to the full route - and luckily for us, another 20 minutes later we saw a sign for Tomonoura - despite all the odds, we'd made it, relatively hiccup-free! We'd read about Tomonoura in ...
