This morning I took a bus, which drove up Mt. Aso , close to the 1590 m above sea level Mountain. The cable car and the walkways to go near the crater are closed since more then a month, as the eruptions are getting stronger , so the eruptions could only be seen from a distance. ... some fellow Brits, by meet I mean they recognized it wasn't Japanese and nodded, I seemed to follow them round but of course we could nt actually speak! Still looking for the Japanese unicorns . Pfft. The weather is so bad by now there doesn't seem much point in hanging around so it's the train again. I sill about 20 times each time there is a rush of people to help. And not laugh. ... and most of the signs say free entry. I have a nice ticket anyway. The castle was old and is on it's second rebuild. I climb up the stairs to the top thinking that the safest place in a storm is in a castle then I remember it can't be all that strong if it's had to be rebuilt. ... the sweat sauce covered potato. Sitting on the plantform is an experience as some of those trains are fast!! The hostel ps directions include "crossing over bridges" which I do. I even ask people, but nope can't find the place. It is roasting and my stuff is really heavy. I am drenched In sweat. On my third circuit across these bridges I get stung by my eye by the biggest wasp I've ever seen. It hurts :( eventually I find ...
