... check in, just time to dump our bags & off we went for a walk around the town we went to a museum, a shrine, the Takayama festival float exhibition hall, we then went to the old part of town. We had a beautiful tea not far from there. When we got back from tea we had another spa, getting used to it (in the nude) still lots of laughs. It's now 9.00 and ready for bed. ... was a line of 50 robots - they looked like strange birds. This was followed by the assembly workshop which was a mix of people & robots but mostly people. They have a mixed assembly line so make to order as needed. We learnt all about their philosophy and just in time & jidoku method. Everyone is invited to contribute improvement ideas and they showed a few of them in action. It was a shame not to see the whole process ...

... Spent these days visiting some of the tourist spots like the Osaka Castle, Nagoya Tower. Plenty of window shopping and lots of walking. Its certainly not as touristy as Tokyo, which in a way is good. Prices on food and transport are cheaper. Lot less pedestrians. Things seem to get done at a slower pace here as well.
