From Kyoto we got to take our first shinkansen (bullet train) to Tokyo. It was every bit as space-age and efficient as we'd come to expect. Top speeds of 320 kn/h and so clean you could eat your dinner off it. Which is like the rest of Japan really. There is seriously no litter here.
