Four glasses of wine got me through the 13 hour flight. It chased the sun. It's 3:45AM Eastern and I slept about a half hour. Only to wake up to find myself sleep-groping my neighbor - I kid you not! Apologized profusely. Struck up a conversation about an hour later and we ended up laughing about it. Had a great chat - she works for OXO and was heading back home to interview a few ...

I’m writing this from the last leg of my journey to Beijing – we just passed Mt. Fuji! We then headed to Shinjuku, for a longer walk this time (we had been there already on Friday evening), going until Kabukicho. This is one of ...

Bullets and bright lights

A travel blog entry by jamieselina on Jul 30, 2013

From Kyoto we got to take our first shinkansen (bullet train) to Tokyo. It was every bit as space-age and efficient as we'd come to expect. Top speeds of 320 kn/h and so clean you could eat your dinner off it. Which is like the rest of Japan really. There is seriously no litter here.

We spent a few days in Tokyo, checking out the famous Shibuya crossing (the world's busiest apparently), some brilliant modern art galleries and Electric City - home to hundreds ...
