... 5 times the pace of the old train! I then took the 2 hour bullet train to Nagoya from Tokyo. Unfortunately I was now about 1 hour 30 mins later than I'd planned but it could have been a lot worse! Sat next to a guy on the ltd express to Nagoya and he noticed how wet I was and asked "Suzuka"? We laughed a little and tried to have a conversation. The new ultra fast MagLev train, the Chuo Shinkansen, will travel at 500 km/h. Partial operation will start by 2020, in time for the new Tokyo Olympics. By 2027, it will connect Tokyo to Nagoya, a distance of 342 Km. It would take less than an hour to travel that distance.

From Odawarra, we caught another shinkansen to Nagoya. That took about an hour. Unfortunately, there was a guy on the seat behind me who had severe feet ...

Head back to the hostel and meet up with Kaori, off for dinner, we go to this really strange place where everything on the menu was 280YEN, and you take this pen thing touch what you want, a little voice over the pen blurbs something out, you touch on the menu how many you want and press send, it was awesome, so after filling our face we meet up with Kaoris friends and off to karaoke ...
