My last piont of interest was a place called Oasis21. A large oval glass construction, set in the air. Well, it looked huge and impressive in the pictures. Got there and was very disappointed. But the locals are happy, so thats the main thing.

... a third smaller monument that contains the remains of another brother who died at age 19 as a member of the navy in WW2. The family laid flowers at the gravesites, as well as candles, and offerings of sake, and beer. We all paid our respects. We had another incredible lunch at Heichi's. Huge bento boxes. ... all that they are planning for our time here. After dinner Shigeyaka took us for a walking tour of Shimosakanaka. It is such a beautiful area and the evening was so beautiful for a walk. Everywhere we could hear a very loud chorus of frogs coming from the flooded rice paddies. It seemed that every few blocks we would come across another old shrine and the architecture of the homes and shrines is very classic. ... check in, just time to dump our bags & off we went for a walk around the town we went to a museum, a shrine, the Takayama festival float exhibition hall, we then went to the old part of town.
