... no more people can go in. Not sure about the tea which was very green like spinach and which she told me came from nearby Bizen, but the ceremony and the serene view was worth every yen! She bowed so much, and so low that it was almost embarrassing.

Checked out Okayama Castle which is next door to the gardens. Again, much of it was destroyed by bombing in 1945, but has been faithfully reconstructed. It is very impressive with multiple stories. ...

Shinkasen means "new trunk routes" and that is what they service, the main routes. It is like flying on an aircraft with hostesses in fancy uniforms, food cart girls and uniforms for everyone. The drivers looks like an airline pilots uniform. They are very clean, on time, and the cars stop precisely at the mark indicated on the platform. ...

... Had our last Japanese dinner then back to
the room to pack. It’s been another great day.

Thanks for going on this journey with us by taking the time

We left our ryokan at 7am this morning and caught an early train from Nara to Kyoto. It was peak hour and by the time the train reached Kyoto it was jam packed. Lots of school kids. At Kyoto station we found a cafe selling a "toast set" and so that is what we ordered. ... Tom and Wills, we had an hour long catch up. During this call, we were contacted by the fabulous Jack and El, and so called them afterwards. Jack and El were also on a call to the marvelous Jesse. We were able to talk to Jack and El for nearly two hours and had a great catch up.
