... and perhaps after 5 more weeks of this he'll either throw me out of Japan in disgust or I'll have actually improved.
3. I love people who laugh easily. It's why I love my husband and both of my families so much. Fortunately, there are a couple of people over here who easily find the joy in life. It's not hard to, I guess, when you get to spend time doing something ...
... Nagoya, found a ¥100 shop (!) and bought a straightening iron, as to buy a converter to make mine work cost twice as much! At 11:43 I was on a train to Okazaki.
Speaking of Okazaki, this is the lovely town where I am writing to you all from. I am killing time until I meet my host family at about 4:30 this afternoon. Compared to Nagoya, this town is gorgeous and I'm really looking forward to staying here.
... noodles in broth. I am usually a big oyster fan, but I was not a fan of these deep fried things. They were not very nice. Although the noodles were pretty good. At any rate, it was a cheap dinner which I topped off with a McDonald's sundae.
Tomorrow I head to Okazaki, where I will enrol in my course & meet my host family. I am looking forward to it & hope that Okazaki holds more charm than it's ugly neighbour.

... t want to be....all by myself. ..anymore. It's not that bad actually, but felt like singing a song :o) Anyway, it's Spring and the weather is very 'hen' (strange). It can be as warm as 24 degrees during the day, but as cold as 9 degrees in the morning, and when I go home in the evening. The cherry blossoms are out though and they're very pretty! The new school year started last Thursday and work has been 'hecticly ...
Nagoya, Chubu, Japan vicki85... re so cyute I wish i could take them home...maybe not...only until they're toilet trained! I've also been practicing kempo for a few weeks now. The branch is small as I said before, and I get lonely and confused, coz there aren't any girls practicing and I have low comprehension of what is said. The teacher has got my paperwork sorted out, so I'm officially a member of ...
Nagoya, Japan vicki85... on any given day. But actually the spirit of spring begins a bit earlier than this, albeit in a more hushed and underrated manner. Late February to early March marks the coming of the ume, or plum blossoms, which are frankly just as beautiful (if not more so, some would argue), even if not as ephemeral. Since I neglected to make any effort to see them in previous years, I made it a point to seek them out this time around. Mayu and I actually planned to ...
Nagoya, Japan xerius... ran across the store to assist us in our fascimile needs. They walked us through the entire process in nauseating detail and I thought how different this experience would be in a 7-11 back home. In the US sometimes it is difficult to get someone to look up from their newspaper to help you, but in Japan people approach their jobs with vigor, enthusiasm and pride. The biggest challenge for the Japanese is being able to adapt and open up to outsude ideas.
