Cool and occasional misty light showers today. Top of 17 degrees - finally some cooler weather.

First up to the train station where there is a beautiful modern tourist Info centre and purchased a city loop bus pass for 500 yen each ( bit over $5 AUD). The bus stops display real time information so you can see where the next bus is on the map and expected time of arrival.

We looked in a couple of department stores. Everything is beautifully packaged and presented. And the array of sweets is unbelievable - I thought they only ate healthy food, but the cakes and pastries rival the French. The streets are decorated for Christmas already and looks like Jim Berardo has been here as the street trees ...

... walk. 1st to the market where we tasted some local food (see pictures). We also bought something that looked that huge grape but actually tasted like prunes. Delicious ;) Then we went to Kanazawa Castle, a big white building in a beautiful park. We saw some gardeners trimming the trees with so much care and attention. It was like bonsai work but for normal sized trees. Crazy Japanese people :) we love them for that :) In the castle ...
