... section, one for each hand.

At first everyone was a little reluctant. I expressed my interest in climbing as well as a few others, but no one wanted to go first. Of course, being the brave girl she is, just like when she dived into the piranha infested waters of the amazon before anyone else, Jessica went first. I followed just behind her, Saffiya after me and so on. I would sat a little more than half of the eight of us decided to take the chains up. The ...
Saijo, Shikoku, Japan astralcarsLeft the horrifying business hotel early and managed to take a quick tour of Okayama castle (so-so) and one of Japan's 3 greatest gardens, korakuen. The garden is rather English in that it's sculpted around grassy expanses. Everything has its own corner, but I rather dislike the avenue approach to gardens. The work that went into making the garden neat has also made it rather sterile. I can only hope the other 2 greatest gardens might be more ...
Kochi, Shikoku, Japan shantiman... tokushima prefecture taking in the beautiful country side smack dab in the middle of japan's 'leaf changing season.' it was beautiful! (the scenery, the weather, the leaves, the company, the experience, and the memories!) but i'll let the pictures tell the rest!
Shikoku, Japan brianneinjapanIn Hiroshima I visited the famous or infamous Atomic Dome(ground zero August 1945)and learned a lot of interesting details. The first atomic bomb was detonated at 600 meters above the city to maximize its lethal potential. It resulted in over 140,000 deaths including 14,000 Koreans who were forced in to ...
HIROSHIMA, Japan sgaudun... strong and Mac blew me away when he played 'Bloke' by Chris Franklin just for me! I don't know if he really understood the lyric, 'I'm a bloke, I'm an ocker and I really like your knockers', but it was a sweet gesture nonetheless. Also made friends with the lovely Yuki from Okinawa, who was sitting beside me at the bar and getting drunk at the same rate as me. Her grasp of English was about as good as my grasp of Japanese, but we managed to communicate through the ...
Hiroshima, Japan andskye... and drinking. Well, the drinking part I guess is similar to Thanksgiving.. maybe. Whatever, Brian, Glen, Ashleigh and I decided to make a trip out to Saijo to watch the Danjiri (portable shrines) be dragged thru the city. Now I'm sure you're thinking: "Wait, I thought that 'Omikoshi' meant 'portable shrine'" Well, my dear friend, you'd be correct! Danjiri and Omikoshi both mean 'portable shrine'. The only difference is ...
Saijo, Japan niknash... they tell story?" "You are like fisherman!" "You can tell everyone about 'The Day Gaijin Drove Car', and many ladies will know you are strong man." Saying farewell to zen master Nori, Masaki, and the Iya, I trained to the top of the island where wonderful wonderful Taeko was even waiting for me at the station in her town. I've been truly moved on occasion by Japanese hospitality - {like when I asked for directions from girl at 7-11, I ...
Shikoku, Japan mondobri... I guess that's what happens when you walk, wear hiking boots and never air your feet for long enough. At nights it's still very cold so I have to wear socks to bed. Oh life is too hard! Ha ha ha! As my train was going across the bridge from Honshu to Shikoku the sun was setting. It was stunning to watch as it changed colours the lower it ...
