... 60, a 250 meter high office block with an observation deck at the top. This observation deck will be closed for one year for renovations. As a final event they decided to open up the stair cases for one day. Well, you still had to pay for admittance, but in return you received a bottle of water, a small souvenir, a picture of your (sweaty) self when you reached the top and -thankfully- the elevator ride down. Something that seems culturally impossible for Japanese.

... I was expecting tanks of strange and foreign looking fish everywhere, instead what we found was a large warehouse and no fish in sight. Turns out Tsukiji is the largest WHOLESALE fish market, which means all it is is a shipping point for Japan's seafood. The tuna auction that happens at 5 AM is the only real tourist attraction, but we weren't about to get up to go to that! After Tsukiji, we had a much more delightful experience at Hama-rikyu-teien, a detached palace ...
