Frommer&s Japan says to allow at least 3 hours to see Meiji Mura; I think four hours is more realistic. It was definitely a worthwhile excursion! They have funded the costs by selling their "air" rights i.e. allowing buildings surrounding the station to build upwards whereas the station itself will remain at 2 storeys high. The old section of the station is now a very expensive hotel, and there is a new shopping district on the lower level plus thousands of new locker ...

... japan you will never get harassed to come and buy things here, even if you just walk in and look and leave they will still say thank you its amazing! So i strike up this conversation with this old boy sweeping outside his shop, he sees my camera and says look, and I take a picture and I guess i didn't take it right and after about 30 seconds of me zooming in and out and moving the camera up and down i finally just hand it to him, I'm pretty sure he took the same picture ...

I enjoy working our here, no one stare or takes pictures ... and there is a lot of beautiful nature all around us. The Nagaragawa river is beautiful. Megan and I went swimming in the river.., it was so clean and clear!
