A few sections were solid lava rock, but mostly we ascended loose gravel and steps, always with very well graded switchbacks. The sky clouded in and sometimes we were hiking in thick fog (actually nice in that it kept us cool!) A plethora of mountain huts along the way helped ...

Praying for good weather conditions, we left Kawaguchi by bus to climb Mt Fuji. Arrived at the 5th station around 9pm.

8 km walk from walk Magemo to Tsumago.

The guide book and the tourist information centre told me that it would take 3hours to walk it.
However I only had 2, as I got up way to late to actually do this walk. What can I say i did it in 1 1/2 hours :)

Rock'n Roll!!!! found the coolest little coffee shop in Tsumago.

... pull out and make up futon beds for you. Then breakfast is served in the room as well. We were hoping that the food would justify the high price to stay there, and we weren't disappointed. The dinner consisted of about 20 little dishes, some hot, some cold. We had lots of fish dishes, Japanese pickles and many things we couldn't identify. The ...
