Castle sweetness

We originally were going to go to Mt. Fuji today but there was a chance of rain and we didn't want to be overwhelmed with the weekend crowd so we did some itinerary rearranging. I really wanted clear skies for optimal photography of Mt. Fuji. So we decided to go up to Matsumoto today. With sandwiches from Lawson's in hand, we took a local train up North. Matsumoto is considered the gateway to the Japanese Alps so there were lots of ...

SULTANA VIAJES MÉXICO > JAPON > VIAJES A JAPON

... estruendo...

  • Night in Matsumoto

... some money on cab fare. Hopefully I can remember to ride on the left side of the street and the other vehicles remember to do the same. I'm also hoping that the rumors of English-speaking guides are true.

Adjusting my expectations... I had thought I'd zip through the castle and get to Kyoto early. Probably not. Everything takes longer than you think.

    english ...big in japan...

... br>lol...but i have also a lot of experiences in the other way...here examples...

hitchhiking...quite easy, even as japanese never do it...funny thing is they invite you to food or give you money...almost always... i refuse always three times, and then i take what they want to get rid of...funny behavior, theoretically it schould be possible to earn money that way.

Otherwise japan is nice, very clean, not as ultramodern as you might think, also it seems that ...

    We heart monkeys :)

... famished. After hot soba noodle broth we were still a bit chilled from the rain and so decided to experience the onsen for ourselves (not the same one the monkeys come in, but they sit nearby). I was a bit unsure about this as you have to go in, in the nuddy!!!! how embarrassing!!! but we whipped our towels off and went for it and thank god there was noone else there. We went in the outside onsen, as the ...

    Still Awake!!

... The Japanese students asked us questions, and we asked the Japanese students questions. They were all anonymous, which was nice. The questions ranged from what is your favorite foods to do you think we speak english well, to "would you ever date a Japanese person?" It was great to see how curious our new friends had become and it was amazing to realize how much we don't really know about each others cultures. Although the Japanese are ...

... a day of asking about Japanese culture, we decided to teach them some American drinking games. Beer Pong became an instant hit, with three tables going at once. My parter, Nanami and I ended up winning every game we played. While playing, we were able to find out a lot about each other. We ended up talking until almost 5 in the morning, learning a ...

    St. Patrick comes to Japan

... my way back home. We all said our goodbyes and promised to get together again sometime. I made it safe and sound back home, as the streets were literally deserted. The next day I woke up around 3pm with a pretty good hangover, but it was all worth the exploits. However, I do have one regret, I didn't have my camera with me. Oh well, next time I'll have to remember to snap plenty of pictures. St. Patrick's in Japan was a rousing success.
