Kobe - Second Day

... The best I ever had. We really enjoyed “people watching,” as you can tell from our latest photos.

I also wanted to remind everyone that we are able retrieve our regular emails, just like we were at home—just in case anyone wants to drop us a line. More to follow about Nagasaki.

All extremely interested and all finally topped off with a bit of shopping in a faaabulous 100yen shop where i managed to buy fake eyelashes and power rangers masks! All in all, a wonderful day in a wonderful city. I was extremely sad to see it go the next morning when we headed out to the historic capital of Kyoto (via the ninja castle at Himeji)...

Diesmal in einer minshuku (also ne art Pension) sehr nett die leute. Wollten uns abholen von der Station. Deshalb war es sehr angenehm mal nicht zu schreiben. Ist halt doch eher Arbeit als entspannend...

A day trip to Nagasaki

Nagasaki

Went to Nagasaki for a day trip while
in Fukuoka. As a result of all the late nights, I did get to Nagasaki
late and did a quick rush of the sights. I have now done my A-bomb
check list of Japan. Nagasaki is a pretty place. Will need o return
and spend more time here one day in the future.

Hitting Yatsushiro

Well, came down to Yatsushiro for a day to visit an old friend. Also explored the trendy castle ruins (Not nearly as big as kumamoto) There is no actual castle anymore, just the walls, moat and a shrine where the castle used to be. Also went to the awesome Japanese gardens there and chatted with the caretaker. Got mobbed ...

These Japanese museums both say "the war was viewed by Japanese people as a crusade - their natural right to control other places", and it is this ego, this blindness to ...
