    ... gardener is so fussy that all the gravel surrounding the access paths was raked in patterns. There was a young lady in a beautiful Kimino and a bride and groom in the gardens. It was almost deserted, a big change from the other cities/sights we have been to. Have to say that the Europe syndrome is starting to set it i.e. the equivalent of cathedral fatigue.     ... National Peace Memorial and Peace Park. It is up on a hill with pretty gardens going up with the stairs. At the top is a fountain (made to look like wings when it is on) and beyond that is a large statue and memorial. The site of the Peace Park was a prison that was leveled by the atomic bomb. It was only about 100 meters away from where the bomb was dropped. The walls around the prison were about 4 meters high, 0.25 meters thick, and made of concrete reinforced ...

    ... of Japan. It has a lovely natural harbour, nice bridges, and a pleasing size only just over a million population. The taxi waited for us again, it only took 10 minutes to take a few panoramic shots, take it in, and head back to the city. We had a map so just pointed at the centre and told the taxi driver to head there.

    ... think the town of Beppu will be next. Beppu is the Onsen (hot springs) hot spot of Japan. I do have to say that having internet through a pocket wi-fi device makes a big difference in foreign travel. We are able to book our hotels and get information very easily. We are also using it to translate when needed and get us to locations. Google maps and directions is just awesome! Here are some pictures For more info please google ...
