In the morning took a train to the city of Nara where once it was the capital of Japan. Nice walk from the station to the location of the great Buddha and back. The walk takes around 4-5 hours. Very scenic and a lot of deer encounters. These deers live in the area and they have got used to the people passing by. Shirakawa- go and Kyoto- 26th March 2013

After a good night sleep in thermals and under thick duvets, we got served a traditional japanese breakfast consisting of rice, beans, scrambled egg, miso paste, tuna all to be eaten with chopsticks.
