... from a man we know doesn't speak English very well. How could we possibly get this information? Use the bloody app fools!

I don't normally use text speak or chat abbreviations but OMG! Google translate is totes
amazeballs (I have no idea what that means, Jill told me its what the kids say). This was a revelation, why did I not know how good this was? Forget Siri this was useful and accurate. Yes there were some grammar issues with long ...

Today we lived my life long dream of hanging out with a bunch of wild deer all day. I was so distracted by petting the deer and being freezing that I can hardly remember anything about the other places we visited today...

There are 1300+ wild deer hanging out in Nara park, and there are places you can buy special deer crackers and feed them, and then they ...

Today we traveled to a few places and saw some old stuff. End of blog.

But actually it was really cool stuff. First up was Houryuu-ji, which is one of the oldest wooden structures in the world dating back to the 7th/8th century. Yes, you read that correctly... not the 17th century, but year 607 A.D. (for the original) and 711 for the replacement. There were a few other repairs and whatnot in the 14th and 17th centuries.

... we had reached the top of the hill and found ourselves in front of two huge temples which looked out over Nara. As people were coming up towards the altars they would throw (literally!) a penny into the collection box, clap their hands, ring the copper bell which hangs down in front of the altar and then begin to say their prayers. This is a totally new experience for us; being in Japanese temples is turning out to be so different to being in a S.E Asian or Chinese temple. ...
