First night in Japan!

We arrived - tired and hungry and smelly at around 1900 local time.

Clearing customs and immigration took a while - and most of that time was spent queuing.

Food was first on the agenda. At this point we were so tired and communicating in what barely amounted to mumbles.

... bags to leave tomorrow. I will just let you know that nothing stuff was all over the place! I can't believe how quickly it has gone. I have made another family! It's going to be hard to go tomorrow, but that's why they invented Facebook (Yes, just for me!). I will, no doubt, see them in the coming years. I am so tired now, so I better hit the sack.

... came and did a performance one a traditional instrument called a Koto. Then we were able to try! I didn't think I would be any good, but after ten minutes of practice time, the leader of the group made me do a solo because I was really good. The expressions on my friends faces were priceless!

After that, we went our separate ways. For me, this meant to Kumamoto Castle. It is so beautiful up close. The thought that sometime this building was actually used makes ...
