... later we did loose control, spinning across the track and onto the grass. Luckly for us we did not hit anything solid. All we got to show for our off road excursion was mud and grass on the car.

Arrived in Koblenz late in the afternoon. Checked into the Mercure hotel. Very nice and roomy of the Ibis in Brugge.

Our next desination is Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Only here for one night. Got to the hotel saw a couple of shops with beersteins, birkenstocks and clocks. Had dinner and watched some feral women proceed to get ****** and act like idiots in the hotel bar. Some good news though, won 30 euro on the slot machine in the hotel.

One of the guys (we assume it was a guy) even peed in the hotel hallway and our Tour Manager had to clean it up. People can be such animals.

Mainz was all about some quality time with my mum! Being the best mom ever she got me and Chris a room for the night at her hotel. We arrived and dropped off our stuff and then called my mum up. She is a flight attendant which is why we were so lucky to get to see her during one of her flights. She arrives in the morning after working all night and sleeps till 2pm so after she woke up it was time for reunion hugs and ...

... go straight to sleep on the bus. she puts it down to having a kid and she can get woken up lots overnight so you get used to going quickly back to sleep but i mean seriously we're in a bus and its definatly not the most comfortable thing to sleep in.
Went to a beer stein factory this morning and it was heaps interesting to learn how they make them and the storys behind them..

... up, and it indeed look like Jack Nicholson would axe you to death here. And their internet connection wasn't working, so they never got our resevation for a double room with no bath or window. So they gave us a ginormous suite with a balcony for the same price. Sweeeeet.

"Bad" means "bath" in German, and any town called "Bad" has a spa. So tonight we went to the town spa to "take the waters" at an art nouveau bathhouse originally ...

... s Island asked me what was wrong. (Leave it to a Southerner to show concern!) When I explained to him my predicament, he said "You know, there was an elderly couple (this guy was in his 60's) who was getting off in Offenberg and they were really confused and they started dragging a bunch of bags off the train and looked frustrated. I'll bet they grabbed your bags by mistake."

... have a shower and get ready for the Captains cocktail party and dinner.  We were all dressed up to the nines of course and had a great time.  It was a 6 course dinner and absolutely delicious.  It would beat any restaurant we have ever been in.  Back down to the lounge and I would love to say danced the night away but by 11.30pm well and truly ready for bed.  I am starting to feel nervous about packing up and saying good bye just can’t believe it is nearly all over."
 

... and rye bread - and a beer. At the youth hostel I was put into a dorm of 4 beds (bunk) and was eventually able to negotiate for a lower bunk. The only other person in the room was a girl who was on the phone literally from the time I entered the room until late into the night. Also, she had a CD playing over and over again "Ich libe ich" (I love myself). It was more than a bit annoying. The song would repeat, she would answer the phone, the song would repeat, she would answer ...

... 2.30pm, and were finally on the road again. It felt good. We sat on the train to Rüdesheim, alone in the first class compartment, singing "King of the Road" and making eager plans for the coming weeks.
