    ... pretty good at getting us by so far but choosing still water seems a struggle. The route took as through pretty German villages as well as up on top of dykes with views over the Rhine and the surrounding area. These were windy but had no shade for us to shelter.     ... for good photos though! We found our campsite about half 6 but although we we're told the campsite had a cafe we were later told their kitchen was broken... So back on the bike and an extra 6 miles into Xanten to buy dinner very tired now!! Simon went for a dip in the 'lake' and enjoyed his first German beer of the holiday and also had time to give the bike some TLC. Miles: 57 ( and 6 extra for dinner) campsite: 17 ...

    ... br> Well we only walked 3,000 steps today due to rain . We have been walking between 8,000 and 12,000 steps per day . We visited the ruins of a Castle from the Charlemagne era in the 8 th century. We also visited a WWII exhibit in an old monastery
