We started to both learn and see the devastation of the quakes five years prior. 80% of the downtown was damaged beyond repair. ... catching up with us! - so Jon drove us to the campsite, we did a bit of food shopping, and as I write he is in the process of cooking a delicious-smelling pasta dish.
