Today we went up kitzsteinhorn. We caught 3 cable cars to take us 3029m of the 3203m mountain. Lee and the boys went to play on the ice beach but it was a bit slippery for the girls so we stayed in the dry. Lunch was at the alpincentre 2052m high in a lovely restaurant whilst watching it snow outside.

On Tuesday we drove from our little hotel in Faistenau, through the alps and mountain passes across the country to Lienz. We took the scenic route through all the little towns, past little water falls and up roads which look like they were only ever intended to be used by horses. The initial motivation for this was to avoid a toll road but we were glad we did as we got to see much more of the country. At once point we were driving through a ...

Next we drove to Bad Ischl which looked like a pretty town. It was quite nice and the river ran through the middle of it which was pretty. We stopped there for hot chocolate and to warm up a bit. There was a parliament house/ castle type thing in the town too which ...

... their selections. The staff warned of a bit of a delay, a couple of big tables. We told them we were very happy to take lunch very slowly. We ordered dessert around 3 pm, also delicious (and rich, no need to hold back on chocolate sauce, or custard or cream!). Our taxi driver collected us with a smile, and dropped us back at the Markets around 4:30pm, just dark, for a final shop. The streets in the Old Town ...

... en route but it was a waste of time.
Finally into the town of Lienz and its time for a coffee and a look at the
maps.
Coffee shop found and looking at the maps I finally decided to take the 107
road north which would be a kind of farewell run over the Alps and its also kind
of taking me in the right direction to home.
Coffee drunk and off out of town I head. Before long I am making my way up
a rather steep road which is hugging the edge of a mountain and is ...
