Today we went up kitzsteinhorn. We caught 3 cable cars to take us 3029m of the 3203m mountain. Lee and the boys went to play on the ice beach but it was a bit slippery for the girls so we stayed in the dry. Lunch was at the alpincentre 2052m high in a lovely restaurant whilst watching it snow outside.

... Be sure to visit the cable car museum to learn more about this famous mountain before heading the the starting gate and walking down the famous downhill course section by section. This two mile long descent will challenge your ankles and have you redefining the word steep.

These are just a few of the highlights that await you when you go hiking in the Austrian Tirol.

Niko, the owner, was a great host and couldn’t have been more helpful. Although not a ‘Resort’ ...

... of the ski golf world championships. Competitors have a skiing competition on the still covered hill tops then make it down to the bottom to play golf at Zell am See. The winner is the best over both challenges. We wandered by the lakeside and through the town which was near deserted and everything closed until the next day. We grabbed some gelato and sat on the benches next to the lake and enjoyed the view. Our second day began with a hearty breakfast at the Pension Gudrun, ...

... of all the optionally that day so I could recover and do some washing. Probably a wise choice. That night after everyone came back from a mountain bike ride and paragliding there was more drinking and schnappy hour (2 euro schnapp shots). I was done and in bed around 10. I have found that I definitely can't drink that much 2 nights in a row. Today we're off to Italy, first stop ...
