There were a few requests for pictures of me in my doo rag. I bought this because I thought it might be a good thing to wear in a very hot climate, I was right. Its much cooler than a hat and does a good job of protecting my increasingly barren dome from getting sun burned. And it looks kind of cool. The only things missing are the earring, the tattoo and the parrot on ...

... but this name is rarely used. Once the sun goes down, Kuta is the rough and ready party zone of Bali, even after the tragic events of 2002, the Bali bombings.

As for us seeing the sun set, we got to miss it ten minutes before it should have occurred, due to big black rain clouds rolling in and covering it up, haha..Poor Teresa was poised with her camera, trying to get a few shots in whilst being pestered by a vendor trying to sell her a cheap dress, haha...

... and in particular in Kuala Lumpur. We also learned that the Chinese New Year celebrations go on for exactly fifteen days, so the Chinese New Year was still being celebrated when we arrived in Borneo, Malaysia. And now, on March 30th and 31st, we have had the opportunity to bring in a New Year for the third time, in Bali, Indonesia.

The festivities around the New Year in Bali are quite unique, and particularly spectacular. For weeks before the New ...
