... right. After a walk round we had lunch whilst watching another tango show. After this we returned back to the centre of town and strolled along Florida street which today is a pedestrian mall covering about 10 blocks and is the main shopping street in the country. This street led us back to the main station and our return to the camp.

17th – Mike took the moped to a garage to try to fix the brakes whilst John and I went into Tigre using the river taxi. Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina argentinadreams... checked into our hostel, the owner was rolling a joint at the front desk!! I practically died in laughter/shock.

During our first day in Puerto Viejo, we just hung out around the town talking to locals and tourists listening to Bob Marley on repeat everywhere we went. The next day we rented bikes to ride to what we were told would be a beautiful beach down the coast. It ended up taking about an hour and a half to ride there on the rockiest, bumpiest ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina sferst... who looked like he was acting out a play by himself, the opera singing old man on roller blades and the dog pulling along its owner on a skateboard. We also had a shot at roller blading ourselves which was very fun. As well as the parks, we've also sampled a few of the fancy bars in Palermo. Everything happens so much later here - we had a bbq in our hostal one night and didn't start eating until about midnight and finished at about 1.45am...this ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina jev... Right. So Trish and Bailey end up stuck at the border waiting for the next bus to show up. 3 of the other girls went on an earlier one leaving me to head over on my own which was fine. Trish and Bailey definatley considered the options of what they might do in the middle of nowhere somewhere bw boliva and chile if night was to fall...and if the wild fox dog thing got hungry enough...luckily 2 plus hours later a bus did arrive and delivered them into San ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina trishstephIm sitting in an internet cafe in a bus station in BA after a 24hr bus ride that was an interesting experience indeed. I only have 10min left so this has to be a quick update. We got up early on Monday (for us at least!) and made our way via taxi and subway to the bus station an hour and a half early and feeling very pleased with ourselves for being so organised until we realised there was no gate number on our tickets and NO ONE seemed to understand our spanish! By 10am we were ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina kat_pA little travel tip for those of you planning to go to Argentina: things aren´t as cheap as they used to be. We expected prices to rise since the publishing of our South America on a Shoestring travel guide in 2004, but we found some price increases were astronomical. Our couch surfing host thought ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina benandlindsey... us "Hoy Siento muy Joven"...I feel very young today. It was awesome. We walked out onto Calle Callao feeling just a little bit more attached to this wonderful city. With just one more night left on this excellent adventure, Evan and I made plans to meet Jessica and a friend at Sarkis for a farewell dinner. As usual, the food was plentiful and did not disappoint. Jessica's friend Johanna was great...a very talented graphic designer and amateur cook. Elbow and I both had ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina jazzkat6... some locals spontaneously started singing some national anthem whilst I was there. After a spot of lunch, nearly falling asleep at my table in the heat, I followed the lp´s walking tour of Recoleta. As it was a Monday the museo was shut, but just behind it was a park with this amazing metal sculpture of a flower, the Floralis Generica. It is huge and apparently at night the petals close up like a real flower. I got back to ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina johnsa32... amigable.
