... did not look very exciting so continued east to Axminster, home of carpets. A nice little town centred around the old church in the square and busy with a farmer's market happening today. Had morning tea at the River Cottage Cafe, the home of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's empire. Very nice and a good price. There were copies of all his cookbooks all round the walls for sale. Left before our parking time expired and went on down to Lyme Regis on the coast. This town ...

Took ferry across to Ringwood and on to Brixham where we spent the ...

... Did a short walk up to a rocky outcrop to get a feel for the area. Shared the walk with sheep and Dartmoor ponies. Great views on such a lovely sunny day, but could easily imagine what it would be like on a cold, misty day when you could easily get disoriented. Drove down from here to Tavistock (out of the Park) but bypassed that and straight on north to Lydford (back in the Park). Went for a walk through Lydford Gorge where the river has carved a steep sided gorge as it moves ...

... Just cannot wait to get to Spain and get a permanent home sorted. We have a temporary base for a week or two but ideally want to get a tenancy signed within the next week or two! Some people have screwed their faces up when we've said were going with nowhere to live but apparently this is the way to do it! We will ...
