... the transition period. The second month it got the better of me, having to live inside all the time (winter is here) on only 7m2…meeting a truly homeless person changed that again overnight. At least I have a place to go home to, make myself a warm cup of tea and sleep in a warm home (thank you parents for lending me the electric heater!).

By now, about 3 months living in NL, and no where closer to living in Amsterdam in something affordable, I made a ...

Well I'll start today with a little apology for not giving you yesterday's weather update. It was lovely, didn't need jackets, so an improvement from Scotland! Anyways.. You might appreciate last nights mishap. After posting up the blog I was leaving mum and dad's room and heading back to mine, but unfortunately the key card wouldn't open the door. ... us up in a sort of strange relationship with the cooks. At first they were all business and essentially ignored us, but as the night when on, they got goofier and goofier, and started doing things like asking us with hand signals how the food was (we also got a picture of us, where unbeknowst to us, a chef was striking a funny pose in the background). We agreed it was much more interesting than just looking out on the harbor (our other option). ...

... br> The Netherlands was playing and therefore the entire town was even more orange than usual. We stepped into a nearby bar to join in the festivities and watch the first half before meeting Robina and Marie. Robina and Marie are both MAP 1 grads and our hosts for the Netherlands section of our EMEA visit. Once introduced, the five of us tried in vain to hold conversation while watching the epic game. We couldn’t quite see the TV because of ...
