... the rocks and they felt fuzzy and soft, like velvet. Once the tide comes back in, all this will be submerged under the ocean again and the cliffs only visible from a distance or from the water on a boat. We felt lucky to see them today and enjoy their beauty. After our walk we went to the Galley café where we watched a para-glider take off from the cliffs and sail through the air above the ocean. ... relaxing lunch with a liter of sangria at a sidewalk café. I had grilled sea b************** fish, head and all--and it was the best I've ever tasted! I have to confess that we're not altogether enamoured of the Algarve so far, although we haven't seen a lot of it yet. At this rate, however, we'll be hotfooting it straight to the Med as soon as we ...

This was the day we hadn't been looking forward to. It was about 65 miles from Sines to Sagres, potentially a 13 hour sail, and the bottom corner, Cabo São Vincente, tends to produce some high winds and rough seas, so we had to stay 2 miles off as we went round.

The swell was also higher than the day before, meaning a less comfortable journey. But it had to be done, so we rose before it was light and set off as soon as ...
