When we got back to the hotel, my bed broke so I had to sleep on a tilt all night. I had to give one of the girls a sleeping tablet just so she could get through the trauma of the hotel room.
The next day we headed to Chitchen Itza, "the Disneyland of Mexico' as Diego described it - the first time he has said anything sensible all tour. It is an amazing Mayan site (more ruins!) but lacking in any of the atmosphere we have seen at other places, as it is overrun with ...
... city on the planet. Got to the hostel and was a bit worried about waking people up at this hour but there was no need as the only occupant was out at the time. I made my bed up and in he came, a private investigator from Washington. He was already ****** and a bit of a nerd but he invited me out and it would have been rude not to. So we went upstairs to the rooftop bar where there was a fiesta in full swing and after a quick one went into town with an Aussie guy who´s ...

... and headed back to the hotel as we had an early morning flight the next day.
We were just about to go to bed and Elena went on to the net to check her mail and read the lastest news. "que fuerte" was the words that came from her as the mainstory that el pais was going with was a recent outbreak of a super flu in Mexico city that had left numerous dead and was worsening to cause almost an epidemic. Clearly rattled by the news as we were about to the fly to the epicenter of ...
... the whirly-gate...beckon the guards over and they´ll take it - thus no need to queue!
And the third time was the real deal. No return to the US of A. $12 cab to the airport (probably a rip-off in hindsight), a hassle free check-in and off i went. Volaris is a brilliant budget airline. Easy online booking, generous baggage allowance, complimentary snacks and booze...and a full refund if it´s over 30 mins late ...
... it was obvious he wanted to continue hanging out, but I was pretty much over my own personal tour guide. I told him I wanted to get back before it started raining so we headed back towards the Metro. He told me again that it was really nice chatting with me, then proceeded to ask me "Under what zodiac sign were you born?" Really? I told him I was a Libra and he said that I must be very laid back. I am. He then told me that he's very shy. I was pretty ready to ...
Mexico City, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico btighe... braking ability from fast speeds to a halt in about 5 metres flat! Quite funny to think about now, but a little freaky at time! But it seemed to be normal driving for the local Californians on the freeway! Probably conclude that Americans slightly are better than the Vietnamese - at least they have functioning traffic lights! LOL! On the way down a mother and her teenage daughter on the bus started arguing. It turned out that the daughter had forgotten her passport! A necessity ...
Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico flicandsimon... would take to get to the airport. I had no idea where or how I was going to ring JAL and reschedule my flights. In short, I had no idea, and I was ready to pack absolutely everything in, catch the next available flight back home and, if necessary, work instead of going to uni just to pay Mum back. I was that serious about it but, as it is said, the morning just might bring something new ...
Mexico City, Mexico jarrad.barnes... 3 blocks we realize we are in f&*#$^ Tijuana!!!!!! We started freaking out because we had no clue what to do. So we stopped the car and decided to go back though to the US Boarder since we needed to get our Mexican Tourist Cards http://www.bajabound.com/before/permits /visa.php and Temporary Vehicle Pass http://www.bajabound.com/before/permits /vehicle.asp which we needed to enter Mexico ...
Tijuana, Mexico ancasteve... here. It´s going to be an interesting few months hurtling towards the end of our funds!! Two days in and we feel we have done Mexico City, especially after being groped on the metro today, gross. And I thought the worst thing would be pickpockets. I have never been so brazenly ogled, even the policemen stare at your boobs. I did feel sorry for some of the coppers (not the pervy ones) as they have these little chariot things they ride around ...
