... Usually there are at least a few balls hit foul along the third base line. And usually the third base coach or a security person will throw the ball into the crowd. In fact, we were seated right next to the guy who would retrieve the ball. Also, we brought our gloves and could reach out and grab a grounder. In this game, however, nary a ball was hit foul along the third base line. So did we get to take a game ball home? No, we did not.

Hitting the road mid-morning, we headed back down south along the coastline on scenic Route 101. Beach views, hillside homes, outdoor dining all equal spectacular views on our drive towards La Jolla (pronounced La Hoya).
