Stayed in a 6 bedroom "cabin" in Blue Ridge Mountains close to Bedford, VA and Peaks of Otter.

As Jeanne said "The good times just keep getting better. And, Karen, thanks for coordinating everything with the house. As much as we *****ed about it, it really hit all the high points--plenty of rooms and bathrooms, a nice dining space, great views, and a hot tub and company that goes unmatched."

... Trail and in another half-mile or so, it crosses Cornelius Creek Trail. Shortly after the second intersection, the trail crosses the creek and there was a small scenic cascade over some rocks. This was not the waterfall, however; it was pretty much the top of Apple Orchard Falls, though we couldn’t see anything from here. We had to hike around and go down a number of wooden stairs ...

... the Lake Trail, though we couldn’t see the lake even though it was only a few feet away and then passed Polly Woods’ Ordinary. This small 19th century building was an Inn that provided “ordinary” amenities to weary travelers. Then we continued down the road past the picnic area and picked up the Flat Top Trail. It’s 1.8 miles to the summit and gains another 1500 feet of elevation along the way - another ...

... if she was not sick. The hotel opened the pool, a bunch of the other hikers took advantage of the cool water. I stayed out, was more in a talking and walking around mood. Seems a few of the hikers are sick. Hopefully it clears up quick for everyone - seems when we go into town, hikers get sick - seems modern society is the problem, we all should stay out in the woods......we never get sick in the woods. Sunday, May 25 2014 Was hard leaving town today.....such ...

... Marcelo, 'Marcela' just cause that's how her accent is. We visited some fab places too but they will be featured in the next couple of blogs.

Marcelo and I really loved Virginia, there are beautiful rolling hills. It is green and lush and still warm in the summer and not too much snow in the winter. Also loved the old plantation style houses there.

A big thank you to our hosts for making us feel like family.
