... the snow still falling and the ground now covered, we ducked inside and set in for the night, fancying ourselves as Scott or Shackleton as we slowly warmed and dried out. Nadine is on her cot reading as the wood burner crackles, and we're just about to transfer the photos onto the blog. It's been a perfect evening. We're a little nervous about what will welcome us tomorrow when we open the door: but we've got plenty of wood and plenty of food should we find we're snow ...

... t share the thrill in the downhill and she rode her brakes the whole time. It was a very stressful experience for her. We got to Salida pretty early and had some Cambodian food at a place that was recommended. We were also able to camp for free along the Arkansas River on BLM land. I think tomorrow will be a rest day. I want to check out Salida and go to the library to plan my trip up to CO Springs and through Kansas. I don't have a map for ...

Trust me, The Rocky Mountains aren't just rocks

... so great to see animals in their natural habit, not cooped up in a cage in a zoo. We moved on and spotted a few more moose but decided we needed to make a move and start the proper journey to Yellowstone. The Rocky Mountains was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had and the views and scenery will stay with me forever. I can see them clear as day in my head due to the fantastic shock of what we were perceiving. It was so good that I have decided to write another ...
