... turns out a cyclist had gone off the road and hurt himself pretty badly. When we arrived the MedFlight helicopter was just taking off. The pass was interesting because most of the drive was on dirt. The RAM did very well - that what it is made for. We also traveled along Taylor Reservoir - one of many huge lakes in Colorado.
We look forward to visiting Randy and Dori again in the future. They live in a beautiful area.

Day 44. Friday 26th September. Kremmling to Heaton Bay Campground. We got up and headed for CO as early as we could muster in the cold, and it was cold! Foggy, very heavy mist, which probably would've been freezing rain if were 4-5 deg. colder. Snow flurries were in the area and we found out later it was a severe cold snap that came through just as we did, setting record low temperatures for this time of year. ... there were what appeared to be purple trees amongst the green pine trees but these were, in fact, bare and just looked purple compared to the green colour. We drove to the highest point and the made our way down the other side of the mountain, towards the other side of the park.
