So to kick off my study abroad adventure, I thought it would be a good idea to do an introduction blog post before I actually go anywhere and before things get crazy. As you may or may not know I am about to spend the next four months abroad! So much excitement. Wow. But actually though.

Where you might ask? Australia. The land down under. With the beaches and the surfing and the kangaroos and the "sharks with frikin' lasers". To be more ...

When we entered I couldn't help but notice that the smell is the same. The taste is worse though. Somehow more flavourless. Who would have thought it possible. Next stop was back to Santa Monica; I liked this place, quiet, no street kid going to cap my ass. Then we went to ...

... We had seen some Christmas ornaments in the gift shop, Josie wanted to ride the old-fashioned elevator, and Cheryl wanted to see the grand ballrooms. Mission accomplished on all counts. Now it was time to get Old Blue out of valet and head out.

Beautiful day, other than the smog, but we knew traffic might be ghastly. Just getting off Coronado Island was stressful with the pedestrians and bike riders going every which a-way. Cute ...

... interspersed with little surf life saving shacks (slightly more official than two flagpoles!!). We walked along the pier and played in the aquarium, which was housed at the end. It was quite chilly so we left and headed to a local pub I heard about on Urbanspoon called Simmzy's. Such an amazing place, really fabulous food and cocktails and it specialised in farm to table / organic food. We had wild rock cod tacos and a citrus/ grilled chicken salad, with local ...
