We could not make calls from hotel, phone was for shoe only, no remote for the Tv, very very very basic

Well today it was off to down town Los Angeles City centre. The buildings were huge and extremely modern. In fact I was surprised there were not more old buildings until it was explained that LA didn't really take off until the 1900s through the movie industry taking off and the discovery of oil.

We get grilled about the movie Forrest Gump by our waitress while the food was being delivered - Micah managing to get the most right answers despite never seeing the movie! ... Park which is about a 15 min drive north of Malibu. El Matador is also known as the Malibu caves and it's quite beautiful. There are large rocks which make up cave-like forms located right on the beach with lots of sea life living in the nooks during low tide. We saw starfish, crabs, mussels and various plant life. Although Jody has seen and been to the Pacific Ocean, this was my first time :)
