    ... I explained that the Pentagon is actually in Virginia, and that DC is across the Potomac (indicating the Capitol Building and Washington Monument). The boy said, "That building over there has Abraham Lincoln sitting in a chair, right?" And he was absolutely correct! It was random...but they seemed nice.

    ... takes you back a bit at Arlington is just the number of white gravestones that their are it is a real eye opener !!! We left Arlington and walked back along the mall and to the American history museum as both be and em where trying to learn a little more about American history, so this museum was perfect as it taught us more in the 3 hours than we ever have at school ...

    The Library of Congress was very impressive. The building itself is worth a visit. Notable exhibits include Abraham Lincoln's personal library (a vast collection), and a copy of the Gutenberg Bible. This was the first major book printed after the invention of the printing press in c. 1450. It is one of only 3 perfect copies known to exist in the world.

    Today we went to the Capitol Building. It was about 50 blocks away from where we were staying. When we got there we were seated in an auditorium and watched a little movie about the Capitol Building, and some of the important legislation that has been passed and about the different sections of the building.
