Our new year's eve consisted of visiting one of this planet's beautiful places, we saw whales, we are staying in a fantastic hotel, and we made a new friend. I do not think it possible for our 2014 to have ended better. We hope yours went as well. Happy new year everyone!

Dinner consisted of fresh made tamales, home made salsa, along with some great rice and beans. Desert was a slice of Rob's birthday cake.
I spend the evening getting to know some of Aurora's family. Unfortunately, I am horrible with names so I would not pass the name test of who is who in some of the photos.
All in all it was a really great day spent in celebration, and enjoying the family.
Today was all about heading back towards LA ready for going to Universal Studios and ending the tour tomorrow. We left San Francisco still 9am and arrived at San Luis Obispo (SLO) at 5pm. On the schedule it was listed as a 5 hour drive, but the timings listed haven't allowed for toilet stops, lunch breaks or traffic so you always have to add at least an hour onto each journey.

There was only one other car when we arrived at the parking area on the beach--winds whipped up giant waves AND when I got out I immediately was pelted with stinging grains of wind whipped sand. Bonna got out for a 'picture' session' but it was short lived as she (and I) couldn't stand the stinging blowing sand.
