... Talking about the future (from the vantage point of 1980) of the Space Shuttles. It ends with a point of view of the shuttle coming right at you, very similar to this picture, then the screen turns transparent and you see the actual shuttle posed the same way, then the screen rolls into the ceiling and you can walk out into the shuttle pavilion.

The shuttle is posed at an angle, cargo bays doors open, CanadArm deployed, the pavilion offers vantage points from 2 ...

... mega yachts that only a small percentage of the world population can afford. Captain and First Mate would love to check out the interiors of those babies but so far, we have not managed to get invited.

I should mention that we originally hoped to stay in Palm Beach but the marinas in that area had been fully booked for about two months due to the Sun Festival that was to take place that week end. So, onwards and upwards we toodled to North Palm Beach, ...

... it is the largest one story building by volume in the world. (The 'one story' part seems to be the important distinction) It was neat to imagine the rockets and shuttles of the past being put together here...and I suppose the Space Launch System of the future as well (They kept referring to the future stuff as this SLS...I am so in with the NASA lingo now)

Our next stop was The John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The race to the moon is not history to me. I can remember cutting out newspaper clipping of all the different missions on our way to the moon. Right now, I am thinking about that July day when we all watched on our black & white TV's (I know hard to believe it no color HD) to see what was one of the greatest achevements in the history of the human race.

... nights. Plan to go to Cocoa Beach tomorrow to look at possible condos for a longer term stay after the cruises. Picked Cocoa Beach instead of Fort Lauderdale or Orlando areas because there were more condos available at better prices. After this, we move down to Fort Lauderdale for the night before the cruise. Then it is on to "The High Seas" ...
