... voucher was a good tradeoff. At the last minute they called me up and assigned me a totally different seat. So now I'm no longer with Kim and have nothing to show for it. Thanks for nothing USAir. Great customer disservice! Home in a few hours though. Bittersweet after a great week away with Kim. We travel well together and I hope we can do a lot more of ...

    Day 68. Saturday 1 August 2015

We drove on to Chimney Rock and took the elevator up 26 floors inside the adjacent mountain. It had been closed for service but had just opened again 3 days ago. ... s. I’ve never been to anything like it. First of all, they are open 24/7! They bake all their own stuff, which is beautiful. They also have a lounge with a hipster coffee shop vibe, and the entire thing is decorated in French Quarter Bordelo Chic. Very cool! Seriously, 24/7 bakery? I’m in! Matt and I were too full to get anything, but Amanda, who is 38 weeks pregnant, could not resist the lure of the ...

... Brian took me on a bike-share tour of Charlotte. I hardly recognized my home of 1993-1995. My takeaways were that it takes business leadership to create a great city and for mass transit you need a full plan. Their light rail has been hugely successful and has been combined with apartments, shops and paths and it just seems to all work. We rode by their first house, the Panthers practice facility which is next to the stadium. I am sure ...
