    ... enjoyed running around the barn and showed particular interest in one of the trainees, Penny. He was all smiles as he ran around and stood as tall as he could to get her attention. Adorable.     Howdy from stormy Weatherford, Texas. We are having some very nasty weather right now but more on that later. We are fine, by the way.

    We began our day at the parking lot of Walmart in Abilene. As I mentioned, it seems to be a very popular spot for truckers and there were far more when we woke up than when I signed off last night. Believe it or not, with all the trucks, lights and noise, we slept pretty well.

    We had a beautiful drive continuing north through the Texas Hill Country to the Dallas/Fort Worth area -- more rolling hills and beautiful wildflowers. The Lake Mineral Wells State Park is lovely -- our campsite is wooded, secluded, and has a short trail down to the lake.
