... to see some of our friends in church. Monday morning went to the Mall of America the only thing we bought was pretzels and ice cream. We had to get more propane for the furance since it is cooler here. Yesterday's high was about 50 and low of 37. ... also lots of bites -- vicious ones that swelled up and were liquid filled next day. Had 5 bratwurst to grill, which was done using bricquets and outer part of alcohol stove to hold Tom's box grill. Made 4 brats on that, cooked fifth on skewer while eating the 4. Also fried the curried cabbage, which had also thawed. All a success, and plenty of heat left in fire so roasted the 'B Loin' which had dripped blood all over inside of cooler. ...

... chatting time enroute. We all found out that no matter the distance, it pretty well took us 12 to 14 hours on the road every day. How we spent the time was important. Knowing that we'd all be tired and retreat to our rooms after dinner every night, long rest stops and picnic lunches seemed to be the best ways to maximize time with each other.
